Bolton Landing
The study of bacteria in aquatic systems has been an important topic of research at the Darrin Fresh Water Institute. In this lab, bacterial constituents of aquatic systems are cultured, isolated and examined. Equipment includes incubators, plating systems, and an anaerobic hood (for culturing bacteria which cannot live in an environment with oxygen).
The microbiology lab is a state and nationally certified environmental testing laboratory. The laboratory is NELAC accredited and carries NYS DOH Laboratory ID 10719. Analytical services are provided only to staff and guest research scientists, we no longer offer water testing for the general public.
